Shoshanna (she/her) is an architectural lighting designer using light as a tool to make spaces more equitable, accessible, and deeply human. With a practice grounded in both artistry and technical rigor, she creates environments that support connection, learning, and well-being—inviting people to live, work, and heal in thoughtfully illuminated settings.

A Principal at Hartranft Lighting Studios, Shoshanna brings decades of experience merging technology with a designer’s eye for beauty and intuition. She was among the first lighting professionals worldwide to earn the Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) credential and recently completed her term as President of the IESNYC. She also believes, firmly and without apology, that every lighting designer deserves bourbon—or at least something brown and beautifully aged.
