In September of 2013, NLTP produced a ninety-minute adaptation of Sophocles’ Theban Trilogy: Oedipus The King, Oedipus at Colonus, and Antigone. The production took place in various parks throughout Manhattan (Central, Washington Square) and Brooklyn (Prospect) and was free to the public. Using modern dress and an original score (an inventive combination of folk and Gregorian chants), our inaugural production shed a different light on these classic stories.
In December of 2013, a condensed version of Antigone was presented at Theatre Now’s Sound Bites Festival. The production won Best Original Music at the festival.
