Meet our 2018 Interns

 

Adam Daniel Koren
Directing

Adam is a native to Montreal, Canada has been doing theatre for as long as he can remember. Initially an actor he has now found a new passion for directing. He is extatic to be working on his first production in NYC. He would like to thank New Light Theater Project for this tremendous opportunity, and his family and friends for their support while he's off chasing his dreams. Instagram: adkmtl 

John La Costa
Production

John is excited to be joining the New Light family. He his currently taking a gap year from his time at Centenary College, where he is studying Directing and Playwriting. John is spending his time in New York in a playwriting intensive at the Barrow Group Theatre Company and School. His directing repertoire back at school includes The Altruists, by Nicky Silver, and Angels in America: Millennium Approaches, by Tony Kushner. He has also designed lights for undergraduate productions of Constellations, by Nick Payne, and The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket, by Peter Parnell. 

Rachel Lee
Administration

Rachel is currently in her senior year at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, NY where she concentrates in theatre and Russian studies. She is a theatre-maker with experience in and passion for a variety of roles and disciplines across the theatrical medium, ranging from directing to arts administration to sound design. Hailing from Washington state, Rachel has worked with theatre companies in and around the Seattle area - including Village Theatre, The 5th Avenue Theater, and ArtsWest - in jobs and internships in stage and production management, education, casting, and as an assistant director. At Sarah Lawrence, she has served as a stage manager, assistant director, sound designer, and most recently, director. Currently, she is directing a play written by a fellow SLC undergraduate produced by a SLC student-run theatre company, the Melancholy Players. 

Tristan Raak
Literary
 

Tristan is a theatre artist concentrating in playwrighting currently based in Bronxville, NY. He attends Sarah Lawrence College, where he expects to graduate with a BA in May of 2018. Most recently, Vive la Reine!, a play he began as an Advanced Playwright at the National Theater Institute, was produced by the Melancholy Players, a student-run theatre company with which he is a producer. He is very excited to begin working with the New Light Theater Project as a literary intern!

Emma Silverman
Production

Emma is a playwright who is double majoring in English and Religious Studies at Pomona College in Claremont California. She is the Artistic Director for the Claremont Colleges Student Theater Group,The Green Room. Her plays include What Happened in the Woods, Remnants, Bitches, Sweet Things, and The Treehouse. For all inquiries, she can be found at edrouetsilverman@gmail.com
