Oscar earned a BA in acting from California State University, San Bernardino with a minor in English. He later shifted focus, earning an MFA in playwriting from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His production achievements include: a finalist at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) with his ten-minute play Juarez; a finalist for the John Cauble Award in Playwriting for Chloe’s Autumn, also at KCACTF.
Oscar has also worked as a dramaturg for classic plays as well as new works, including: The Love of Brothers (Theatre for the New City, New York), Arthur & Esther (New York Fringe Festival), Romeo and Juliet (No Boundaries Theatre Co., Las Vegas), The Heiress and The Laramie Project (Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Las Vegas), Much Ado About Nothing (Project Shakespeare, Las Vegas). His full-length drama, A Room In Autumn, had a stage reading by The Collective Theatre Company presented at the Neighborhood Playhouse. Oscar is a proud member of the Dramatists Guild of America, Inc.
